Sue Rumble
I’ve been a member of Martial Fitness Australia for 10 years, training with my two sons. We were welcomed by Allan, Kelly and knew that this was where we wanted to train in Taekwondo. Over time and after a lot of hard work and perseverance, I achieved a personal goal and was awarded my black belt. Not satisfied with this, I have since gained my 3rd Dan and I am an accredited referee.
For the past 6 years, you would have also seen me on the mats training our wonderful members: from the smallest Peewees to the biggest Seniors. I am so proud watching them achieve their goals and face their challenges. I absolutely love teaching all aspects of Taekwondo, from traditional striking and kicking through to self defence, but my favourite has to be Poomsae!
Meet our instructors
BIO The team at Martial Fitness Australia makes a constant effort to continually learn and update the Academy’s curriculum with new and innovative ways of instructing.
This creates a dynamic and ever-evolving martial arts system that combines the knowledge of a diverse range of martial arts disciplines with a progressive and effective curriculum.
Mitch Hansen
Hi, my name is Mitch and I started training at MFA in 2015 with little martial arts experience. Over the years I developed the skills, confidence and belief in myself to now compete and help others.
I have successfully competed in Taekwondo, Kick Boxing and BJJ competitions where I have earnt State and National titles and selected for the WAKO world championships team. As well as continuing to develop my own personal skills I assist in the Kickboxing and BJJ classes for our Warriors programs. From my personal experiences, the positive and encouraging environment at MFA has helped me become who I am today and I see real value in giving back and enjoy watching the kids grow.
As an athlete I’m not finished just yet and have set high goals in becoming the very best I can be and know that Martial Fitness Australia will help me every step along the way to achieve this.
Ben Rumble
Hey there! My name is Ben and I’ve been doing Taekwondo for 10 years at Martial Fitness! In my time at the club I have gained my black belt and become a teacher who loves the sport and loves to keep energy levels high! I have also fought for Victoria and won two National Titles in 2017 and 2018.
Adam Scott
Hi, my name is Adam and I am an assistant instructor here at Martial Fitness. I have been an assistant instructor for approximately 2 years now. I really enjoy teaching and helping younger students especially with poomsae.
I began my martial arts training here at Martial fitness around 7 years ago. I am a 2nd poom black belt. It took me around 5 years to get my black belt and I trained really hard to get it. My favourite part of taekwondo is sparring, my favourite technique is a spinning hook kick. I am also a member of the sports taekwondo team here at martial fitness which means I get to travel to and compete in different states around Australia.
My greatest achievement so far in Taekwondo is winning a bronze medal at the National championships in 2017 & 2019. I'm looking forward to seeing you on the mats!
Zachary Mifsud
My name is Zach. I am a 19-year-old University student currently studying Biomedical Science at Victoria University.
I began my taekwondo journey when I was 4 years old, and it has remained a part of my life ever since. Growing up I was always quite a shy kid, this was one of the key reasons I wanted to be involved in a martial art, I found Martial Fitness Australia assisted me with building confidence, social skills and many other areas of my development. I am now a second dan black belt and assist the instructors at Martial Fitness Australia
Lachlan Malachowski
Hi there, my name is Lachlan and I am a lead instructor at Martial Fitness Australia. I have been studying Martial arts all my life and am a 3 rd Dan Black Belt in Taekwondo, 2 nd Dan Black Belt in Hapkido and working my way up the ranks in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ).
I am an active athlete and continue to represent Australia all over the world at events competing against the world’s best Taekwondo fighters. These challenges help keep me focused on my goals and I can pass this knowledge down to our younger athletes who are starting their journeys. When I’m not competing, you will see me on the mats assisting in classes and getting our members excited about improving their skills.
I also have a passion for food (mostly eating) and am studying to become a chef so that I can combine my knowledge of martial arts and food to help develop positive eating habits for our athletes. Martial Fitness is a great place to learn martial arts and I hope to see you here soon!

Kelly Malachowski
Hi, I’m Kelly and with my husband Allan and children Schelby and Lachlan successfully run Martial Fitness Australia.
We have been in the industry for over 40 years and have been running our Martial Fitness for over 25 years now. We have built a lifetime of experience and worked with some amazing families. I am a 3rd Dan black belt in Taekwondo and 2nd Dan in Hapkido. More importantly, I am the member services and team manager at MFA and here to make your time with us the most enjoyable and safe I possibly can. I am a qualified Massage therapist, Nutritionist and Cut women for our professional athletes. These extra skills guide and protect all our members during their time with us. “You can say we are a one stop shop and offer a lot of services”.
We are very dedicated to our members and their families and absolutely love what we do. It makes me especially happy to see all our little students with a smile on their faces each time they arrive at the club. We hope to see your family at our studio soon!
Self defence classes that will build confidence and empowerment
Learning a form of martial art that you are going to enjoy and stick with is the most important part to building your self defence skills. At martial Fitness Australia we incorporate women’s self defence into our kickboxing, bjj and tae kwon do programs to allow you to find a style you enjoy and love.
Because just like any skill the more your practise the more you know
"We will support you through every step of your martial arts training, from an absolute beginner, to a master Black Belt or the next World or Olympic Champion"
At Martial Fitness Australia, our biggest asset is our family-orientated approach to our Programs.
All of our instructors have been developed “in-house”, experiencing firsthand the life-changing experience of our programs. Martial Fitness Australia is also family-owned and takes pride in its friendly and fun family environment
IT'S ALL UP TO YOU NOW
We, as a family, have been members at Martial Fitness Aust. for over 8 years. Originally joining for fun and fitness and knowing hardly anything about Taekwondo, we have embraced all that the club and teachers have to offer us. For me, learning self-defence and the traditional teachings of Taekwondo alongside Kickboxing, I have the all-round fitness experience! My sons love their teachers and classes - my eldest also joined the Sports Taekwondo program where he competes around Australia, including the National Championships.

I joined Martial Fitness Australia in January 2018 as I had always wanted to learn Taekwondo and decided to give it a go. From the moment I nervously walked through the doors I could not have felt more welcome. Allan and Kelly have built a fun, supportive and family-friendly culture. They genuinely love their students and want to see you become the best version of yourself, and this makes our club an absolute pleasure to be involved with
